How to get three stars on a raid

ยท How-to

A won raid in Pet Heist pays up to three stars. Stars give you more XP, and every 10 stars fill a reward bag. Here is what each star asks for and how to earn all three.

What the three stars are

A win is worth 40 XP, plus 15 for each objective and 10 for each star. A loss is still worth 10 XP. So a clean raid pays much more than a messy one.

Sneak more than you think

Running is fast, 3.6 metres a second, but guards hear it within 3.6 metres. Sneaking is less than half as fast, but completely silent. On a computer, hold Space or Shift. On a phone, tilt the stick only a little, or use the sneak button.

The trick is to sneak only where it matters. Run through empty rooms. Slow down near guards, near pressure plates and anywhere you are not sure. Walking over a plate sets it off. Sneaking over it does not.

Watch the floor

Vision cones are drawn on the floor. Cameras and owls sweep from side to side, so wait at the edge and move when the cone turns away. Lasers blink on and off. Stand still, count one full cycle, then go as soon as the beam drops.

Be careful on the way out

This is where most stars are lost. Once you carry a pet, it squeaks, and guards can hear it within 4.5 metres. You also move slower. Plan the way out before you grab the pet, and leave a gadget for it if you can.

Pick locks calmly

Locks have 3 to 5 pins. Tap when the pin is in the green zone. A miss makes noise that carries 6 metres, which can wake a guard nearby. If a dog patrols close to a lock, wait for it to walk away before you start.

Gadgets by level

You get 2 gadget slots, and 3 from level 10. Before a raid, look at the vault and pick the gadgets that answer its traps.

If the alarm goes off

You lose the no-alarm star, but not the raid. You have 25 seconds to grab what you can and reach the exit. Take the coins and pet stars if they are close, and get out. In campaign vaults, if you fail the same vault twice, your next try shows the route and gives you an extra smoke bomb.
